I have a Whirlpool RBS245PDQ12 wall mount oven. Gathering information from AppliancePartsPros.com resulted in two possibilities: The Thermal Switch or the Control Panel. Talking with Appliance Parts Pros led to testing the Oven Temperature Sensor. It's supposed to test at 1080 Ohms at 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Mine tested at 960 Ohms so I knew it was bad... DISCONNECT CIRCUIT BREAKER!!!. Remove oven door. Remove two screws that attach the element to the back of the oven, and two screws that secure element to the oven roof, then remove element. Had to be careful that the four wires don't slip into the back of the oven (difficult) to keep them from falling back as they are very short. Remove and replace element. Removed the Microwave from the wall, then had to almost completely disassemble the sheet metal surrounding the microwave unit itself. Lots of screws and wires to work around. Takes 2 people to remove the microwave and set it on a stand outside of the wall unit. Once you get to the light bulb, the replacement is easy, just very challenging to get to the light bulb. I determined the hidden bake element below the oven cavity was not working, because the bottom of the oven was cold during normal use. If you have a built-in microwave + oven combination (mine is KitchenAid Model No. KEMS308SSS05), this is a difficult repair. This is for the Whirlpool in-wall double oven GBD307PDS10. No power and the door locked after the shutdown before the self-cleaning cycle was over. I watched some video and this is a known issue the fuses blow during self-cleaning. I opened the door with a 90-degree hook, an easy task. Replaced it. It took over 4 months to get the part due to a lack of inventory. I initially ordered from another supplier who after several months sent an incorrect part. Shifted to AppliancePartsPros. They confirmed the inventory shortage and gave me a two-month delivery estimate. About a month into the wait, they provided an update. The next update was noticed. Replacing the Door Gasket is very easy and will take about 2-3 mins per door. Simply remove the Gasket Retainer (1 screw), and pull off the old Gasket. Install the new gasket by simply pushing the gasket clips into the holes where the old clips came out from. Be sure to start gasket at the first hole either side of the Gasket Retainer and work your way around. Reinstall Gasket retainer. While cleaning the microwave, I accidentally dislodged the porcelain bracket. It shattered when it fell to the floor. I inserted the tab of the replacement bracket into the punched opening at a right angle, then rotated it to lock it in. The fix was simple and only took seconds to complete. Read more
