Polly H Glen Allen , VA November 11, 2014 Appliance: Model GE WASHER The control knob spun freely without engaging to select cycle I pulled off the retaining clip with pliers then removed the old knob and timer dial. I replaced all the parts with the new ones and used pliers to reinstall the clip. Jeffery B Donalsonville , GA September 04, 2015 The timer switch came detached from the bracket and the dial slot slipped out of the shaft until i saw the repair video i did not know about the clip that locks the dial to the shaft I removed the dial knob and plate as instructed by the video, removed the front panel of the washer to access the switch. I found the plastic molded bracket that the timer rests on to be broken and the tab on the timer where it is attached by a screw to be broken. I ordered a replacement switch, dial and knob. When it arrived I replaced the parts as instructed, but I had to use super glue to hold the new switch in place due to the support tab on the washer panel being broken off. After letting the glue cure I reattached the panel and everything worked great. Marshall S Denham Springs , LA March 31, 2014 Control knob loose Pulled retaining clip out from behind knob, had to use needle nose pliars to easily do. Wish a more durable part existed, this is the 3rd or 4th knob I've had to replace. Just cheap plastic used by GE. Easy to replace. Randall M Sun City West , AZ July 14, 2014 The teeth at the bottom of the knob were wore down and wouldn't turn the selection dial Removed the retaining clip on the back of the knob with needle nose pliers. Then pulled the knob off and discarded it after finding the matching knob on your web site. I ordered the knob with the retaining clip which you sent that day and received it in three days which was fast. I took the knob with the retaining clip in place on the knob and pushed the knob all the way down on the shaft until the retaining clip seated its self into the groove on the shaft. I didn't have to place the knob on the shaft and then insert the clip, That's it.
