Lisa for Model Number kenmore 58715238900A Gray water backs up in bottom of dishwasher after it runs. The washer is not hooked up to the disposer, it drains into its own stand pipe. Yes it is hooked up properly with air gaps and all. We have had a plumber over and he says it's the washer, and we have had the sears appliance guy over and he can't find anything wrong. I'm at my last end, don't know what to do. Can you help?
Answer Hello Lisa. Here is the issue, first the water should not be backing up to drain back into the unit, so that is plumbing. Also, there should be a loop in the top of the drain hose of the dishwasher to make an air gap. And last, but most important, the flapper 807048001 in the sump is bad and this is allowing the grey water to come back into the unit. Read More...
