Manufacturer Part Number: WD26X10016

The Drain Pump is an OEM component for GE dishwasher models. Located at the bottom of the dishwasher tub, this pump works to remove dirty water from the wash cycle and drain it out of the appliance. It is a vital component responsible for fully clearing all water from the dishwasher.

Causes of a bad drain pump can include a clogged or restricted impeller which prevents proper water drainage. Sediment buildup over time can reduce the pump's efficiency. The motor or internal mechanics may also fail due to extensive use.

Symptoms of a bad drain pump include:

  • Incomplete draining of water at the end of cycles
  • Puddles or standing water left in the bottom of the tub
  • Smelly dishwasher from stagnant water issues
  • Error codes related to draining problems

This OEM GE part is also compatible with some Kenmore dishwashers.

Jeff for Model Number ZBD6800K00BB

Last week my Monogram Dishwasher ZBD6800K00BB started leaking (more like flooding) water out of the bottom of the door. When I looked inside the bottom was filled with water that apparently risen above the bottom seal of the door. I ordered a replacement pump from you and replaced it. I also checked and cleaned out all the lines and drains making sure they were all clear. Even after replacing the pump there is still water left in the bottom of the DW that will not drain even when I disconnect the drain hose from the under sink drain and let the hose dangle down into a bucket below the DW the water will not drain. If I disconnect the drain from the internal loop and connect the drain directly to the pump motor drain it will drain by gravity into a bucket but when connected to the internal drain loop it does not drain. I have checked the one-way flaps on all the drain hoses and outlets and they appear to be intact and working. Any ideas what I can try next?

Answer

Hello Jeff, First you should check the flood switch WD12X10151 and float WD12X10047. This should prevent any more water from entering the unit when it is close to the overflow level. You should also check the water valve WD15X10014. With the unit empty, start the unit and have someone flip the breaker to the unit off. The water should stop filling the unit immediately. If it doesn't, the water valve should be replaced. If the drain pump is not pushing the water out, but the water will come out by gravity, the impeller in the pump has an issue and the pump WD26X10016 should be replaced.
