Attila for Model Number DLGX7188WM I have this dryer, the igniter glows the flame comes on and like 5-6 seconds later shoots off. I think that may be the gas valve. What do you think? Attila
Answer Attila, the gas valve 5221EL2002A would be the likely cause. With the power cord unplugged and the top panel removed, the gas valve can be tested for resistance from the main control at the connection BL3. From the red wire to the pink wire, the resistance should measure 1.5KO. From the red wire to the white wire, the resistance should measure between 1.5KO to 2.5KO. If the coils do not test within range, the gas valve would need to be replaced. If they do test within range, it is likely that the main control EBR36858804 (the manufacturer has discontinued this part and it is no longer available) is not consistently providing 90VDC to the valve.
