Mark for Model Number WM0742HWA Hi, my lg top loader was not spinning on any cycle but just making minute movements jerking when normally would be starting to spin. When I removed the rotor to make tests on the position sensor I noticed that about a third of the magnets had lost their adhesion. This was obvious as the depth of their position varied. I pulled all the magnets from the rotor, cleaned the entire surface that the magnets were attached including the backs of each magnet.I then used super glue to reset each magnet to it's original position with precise spacing between them all, as with their position in depth. I tested the stator with perfect resistance on each of the three legs. I replaced the position sensor with a new one. My question is , could I have reset the magnets with improper polarity alignment? I only considered the polarity being north /south on the sides which faced the stator windings and the side adhered to the rotor surface with out thinking of the longitudinal axis. I am wondering because the washer has the same problem with the "LE" code? thank you
Answer Mark, the damaged magnets can certainly cause problems for your unit. You will definitely want to change out the rotor 4413ER1003A and possibly the stator [4417EA1002H]. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, January 22, 2019
