Joan for Model Number RF263AEBP/XAA I'm having a problem with my Samsung French door refrigerator its only 9 years old. The freezer would not stay cold and the back of the refrigerator would get ice build up and water under the meat/deli tray. Now the refrigerator will not stay cold. I called Samsung and they told me it is not worth repairing. Is there something you can suggest I try to get it working. I was thinking of starting with the defrost sensor is there something else I should do instead?
Answer Joan, the refrigerator defrost heater DA47-00244B can be tested for resistance and should measure 120O. The defrost thermostat DA47-00243K should measure as having continuity and the defrost sensor DA32-00006S would need to be tested for resistance and compared to its actual temperature. If these parts all test good, then it is likely that the main control (the REV number will be necessary if there is one on the model tag) has failed. Read More...
