Randall for Model Number 11062922100 Series 90 Kenmoore elect dryer I have no heat on any dryer cycle. I checked continuity on element and shows fine with mulit and visual. I checked gthe 2 thermostats on the element housing/tube and the one with red and white back shows closed, the one thats black with red stripe on housing (on your pic one on right , small one) shows open continuity. What else should I do and is it suppose to be open or closed at room temp and what ohms? check what else?
Answer Hi Randall. All thermostats are normally closed. They open for a safety issue that part is # 279769. However there is a thermal fuse on top of the blower hsg. with 2-wires connecting it,part # WP3390719 this will open the heat also. The cycling thermostat next to it needs to be normally closed also. Part # WP3387134. Remember to now and a couple of times/yr. to clean the entire vent system including the vent cap outside for proper opening and closing or the part will immediately fail and you will have to begin again.
