John for Model Number KSRS25RSMK01

Icemaker not working. Changed water valve and still no ice. Ice was built up in fill line and trough on bearing assembly. Removed ice and jumpered thermostat to start harvest cycle. Water did come out near end of cycle like it was supposed to one time with the new valve. Put the old valve on again thinking supply line and trough may have just been froze up. Never could get ice maker to start harvest cycle again. Tested voltage across thermostat and only had 35.5volts. Unpluged icemaker power supply and tested voltage on plug at black and white wires and only had 35.5 volts there also. I am not familiar with anything that has to reset before the icemaker can start harvest cycle when thermostat is jumpered. Why do I only have 35.5 volts coming to the icemaker?

Answer

John, Based on your post information, and the voltage information, You need to test, and most likely will need to replace the I/R sensor board kit W11629974 here's a quick test. Open the freezer door and observe the "led" light on the right side of the opening, If the led pulses twice, press in on the emitter cover on the left side of the opening, if the light continues to pulse, or there is no light, you hve a bad I/R system and will need to replace the board kit. Thanks and Good Luck
