How to Troubleshoot & Replace Bosch AP4927070 / 00622058 Water Inlet Valve

After a little research, I found that the Bosch SHE4AP07UC dishwasher displayed this behavior when the water inlet valve needed replacement. I watched the helpful video and was able to replace the valve myself. 

Bought, and replaced the water inlet valve. I had watched several different YouTube videos to properly diagnose the issue first. I did have problems along the way, and had to have my husband remove the brass angle adapter, but besides that I replaced the valve by myself. It was a fairly easy fix! 

I saw a hint on YouTube that if the arm isn’t spinning add half a gallon of water and recheck. If after you add water the arm spins, then there is a problem with the valve not allowing enough water, and if not enough water, it won’t have the pressure needed to spin the upper arm. I replace the water inlet valve and the video supplied by AppliancePartsPros was exactly how to change it. There was no video for the latch so I removed the front panel of the door. The latch had no screws, it was held in by two pieces of metal at the top that were pushed in. I was able to pull the tabs out and the latch slid right out. 

I replaced the part. I unscrewed it from the dishwasher, pulled the clamp back and swapped out the part. 

Two problems needed addressing: 1) Lower door seal had failed allowing water to leak from lower front door area. 2) Water inlet valve would not shut off completely, allowing dishwasher to slowly fill with clean water, which caused water to leak via the bad lower seal previously mentioned. The initial problem was the bad lower door seal. While the replacement part was reasonably priced, the repair seemed rather involved since the dishwasher needed to be removed and the door panel as well as the door itself be removed from the unit in order to allow the seal to be replaced. Using the repair video made performing the repair very straight forward and it was easy to follow along step by step, which made something that seemed daunting and very involved to become very achievable. Replacing the water inlet valve was also simplified via the repair video tips and guidance. I also replaced the door gasket for good measure. All together doing these repairs myself took only a couple of hours saved me hundreds of dollars having it repaired or replacing the dishwasher outright. 

Simple fix 

Found the model number, looked at the parts found it and just ordered it. 

My husband replaced the water inlet valve. 

After removing the kick plate, I could see the water coming from a valve. When I ordered the part, I viewed the video associated with the part and got to work. It was easy and the perfect solution. 

After googling the symptom and finding that others suggested replacing the Water Inlet Valve. I ran loads by manually filling the dishwasher with about a gallon of water after it started its cycle and it cleaned OK. So that indicated the Inlet Valve was the likely culprit. After replacing the valve, things are back to normal. By Bosch required a Torx screw driver to remove and replace the valve.
