How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP6285991 / 5304512731 Control Board

Replaced control board. Do not like your smartpost shipping method. Takes too long. Just use Fedex! 

After my handyman checked to see that there was power in the dishwasher, I removed the front cover and existing control board and replaced the board. 

Replaced control board 

Saw similar complaints on Web site. Ordered new control board. Disconnected electric and verified. Removed screws around door, removed screws around cover, unplugged wires from defective control board. Removed screws holding control board. Placed new control board and fastened with original hardware, plugged wires in, attached protective cover and reassembled unit. Applied power and a test. Bback to normal! Total time was one hour. 

There was power at the door latch and getting to the control board. Replaced board. It was easy. Top can off with removal of six torx20 screws, a plastic cover 3 phillips and board 3 phillips. Disconnect connectors and install new board. Problem solved. Less than an hour total. 

Replace 

Replaced the control board with the one AppliancePartsPros recommended. When I got the board I was little concerned as the boards were not a 1:1 match there were a couple capacitors that were different and had a separate connector. Trusted the site and installed it anyways and it worked like a charm. Everything works exactly as before. Installation was very simple especially with the video instructions. Thanks AppliancePartsPros! 

Replace main board Problem resolved 

Took out screws to remove the control panel from the door, removed a few pin connectors from the old control board, replaced it with the new board, and reassembled and now my dishwasher works again. You may need to use pliers to grip and remove the pin connectors from the board. I originally purchased the "switch assembly" because I thought that was the issue with the dishwasher, but it was actually this control board that needed to be replaced. 

I replaced both the control board and the switch board. I watched the video on how to replace the control board and it was spot on.
