How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP5803894 / 241537103 Cold Control

I looked up the model number and found the right part I needed and then I happened to notice a video popped up and Wow! the service tech. walked me right through removing and replacing the cold control and gave me confidence to order the part and in just two days later I had the part in hand and within 20 minutes my problem was solved and I saved well over a hundred dollars and it felt great to fix it myself, thanks to Appliance Parts Pros. com and if ever I need any appliance parts there's no question as to where I'm turning to for help. Replced the Cold Control in the fridge section 

I replaced both the defrost timer and cold control. To me they were the most suspect, saved on shipping by getting both together. Unit is working well now 

I replaced both Cold Control Thermostat and Defrost Timer 

The freezer section of this 2004 era fridge wasn't freezing and the fridge section was too warm as well. Compressor and fans seemed to be operating as expected but just not often enough. Suspected a bad cold control. temporarily bypassed cold control and freezer went to -10F so that verified proper operation of cooling section. Replaced cold control and defrost timer since they were both easily accessed. System operating properly now. 

I replaced the cold control switch and also replaced the automatic defrost control timer that is located in the refrigerator.

1975 Sears Coldspot. Put in a temp cold control. Sometimes the cold temp control can cause the compressor, to stop. Started working again after 20 minutes, after the cold timer caught up.
