First step was to clean the lint out of everywhere....that likely reduced any fire hazard, but not the problem. The stories on-line for various parts attributed over heating to the heater assembly, which I ordered (came in a couple days) and replaced. There was a thermostat already on it, so didnt need to get that separate part. How-to videos and diagrams very very helpful for disassembly/reassembly. Old heater looked cooked a little, but this didnt solve problem, as beeping & auto shutdown continued. Then I ordered a control board, it came in a day, and only had to take apart the front panel...this solved the beeping problem...all cycles now run fine, only beeping for cycle changes, and it runs much cooler, like a new machine. The chat room helped a lot to pinpoint and confirm the control board problem and provide instructions.....there were NO instructions included with the new control board.
After a couple take-aparts, after the top comes off, you dont really need to take off the front panel to get the control board out; but it does help with access for changing the control board as there are a lot of buttons to keep straight during reassembly. Another trick is to take off (my model) the kick panel on the front bottom FIRST..Of course the learning curve and speed increased with successive changeouts, so it's not a difficult repair. All told 4 days.
