How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP3844555 / 134484212 Control Board

I found the part here at the best price and bought it.it arrived quickly and we had a dryer working again. 

Used the diagnostic test, possible cause a stuck button. If it was determined that it was not a button problem, then the control module was the cause. 

I ordered the parts from Appliance Parts pros, watched the installation videos and had all the new parts installed in no time!! The repair videos are great!! 

New timer 

I have ordered from you before, a washer handle. I looked up the part and also called to verify I had the right part. I ordered while on the call. It came right away, though the rep said it might be a week. My realtor helped me move the dryer off its platform, so I could access it. I followed the video. Probably took me 30 to 45 minutes, but I am slow and not very strong. I had the computer set up on the washer, so I could review anything that gave me trouble. I also stopped to clean the inner workings of the machine. The video showed how to "pry (leverage)" the plug out of the board. It all worked and the neighbors helped me put the dryer back in place. So glad to have my dryer running and not spend $100+ on the repairman. 

Replaced the control board 

Determined that a key wasn't actually stuck (put the dryer into 'control lock' mode, and verified that pressing each button caused it to beep at me). - Ordered & received the control-board, - Turned off dryer breaker & unplugged - Pulled the dryer out from the wall. - Unscrew the 2 screws on the very back to remove the top-plate - Remove the 2 top screws by the front, and the two 6" from the top to free the front panel. - Unplug the wires, clipping the ziptie, move to a table - Pull off the control knobs - Remove the screws holding the control-board on - Accidently send all of the buttons & springs flying (you can skip this step) - Un-snap the board module from the front-panel - Replace with new board - Remount the front panel, plug back in, replacing the zip-tie with a new one, - Put the rest of it back together & rejoice. 

Removed the top of the Dryer And replaced the Control unit. Very easily done. I have no experience working on Appliances , but this one was a no brainer!!! 

Replaced circuit board by removing top of dryer and then taking old board out first. Simply re-assembled in reverse....works like a charm! 

Having gained experience to gain access to the dryer interior, and having replaced a control board once before, it was a simple matter to remove the top, unscrew and unplug the control board, and replace it with a new one. The high voltage connection on the old one appeared singed, explaining why no high voltage was letting the motor run. Once replaced, the unit ran perfectly. This changeout took less than an hour. This was the last repair in a series of problems, and hopefully this does the trick.
