How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP4019644 / 154580301 Dishwasher Drain Pump Assembly

Replaced the drain pump. Repair would have been very easy if the design engineer had practiced "Design for Repair" It was very difficult replacing the hose to circulating pump connection without removing the dishwasher and turning it on it's back. I was able to do it but it took a while. A different design would have made the task very easy. 

My boyfriend is a contractor-he doesn't work on appliances but was willing to give it a shot. We used the repair videos on the website and it was super easy! It was under an hour for both motors (motor and drain pump) to be replaced and everything put back and cleaned up. Thank you! This saved me a ton of money! 

Ordered seal and new drain pump. Easy to fix using online videos. Dishwasher working fine now. Quiet and no leaks. Delivery of order was prompt. The hard part was this 83 year old getting down on the floor and being in the necessary positions?? 

Not being particularly handy, I enter into these projects with a bit of fear and trepidation. But .. once I entered the model number, the part was easy to find, the how-to video was attached, the part was ordered and arrived the next day. After that it was a matter of following the video, and presto! Our dishwasher drains again AND there are no discernible leaks! 

Replaced drain pump 

Removed dishwasher from cabinets, checked with volt meter that had power to the pump, (pump had power but not running) removed the appliance plug from receptacle then turned off water supply, disconnected 2 hoses from pump and 2 wires from electrical connecting box. Reversed the above but did turn machine on side for replacement, now have working dishwasher. Piece of cake for 75 year old banker. 

Replaced the pump. 

Took the dishwasher out and tipped it forward and changed the pump

Found tour web site had the best price , order the part 2.5 days later part was in my hands. took about 10 minutes too change out part on this model . part was an exact match.
