How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP4019644 / 154580301 Dishwasher Drain Pump Assembly

After checking for clogged lines,clogged pump, etc. I determined it was the drain pump on the dishwasher, I was puzzled at first because the pump was running, I even removed the pump and bench tested, re installed and it still didn't drain the dishwasher, So, I ordered a new pump, installed it without removing the dishwasher, pump was in the front under washer. Ran the dishwasher in normal mode, dishwasher worked like new, I can only guess that the pump was not spinning at the proper RPM's, 

Replaced pump which turned out to be unnecessary. The actual problem was my fault for not removing the plug in a newly installed garbage disposal. I watched a video about replacing a garbage disposal (should have also read directions that came with it). The replacement was pretty easy, BUT if the dishwasher is connected to the disposal, the plug on the disposal MUST BE PUNCHED OUT. That's what was preventing the dishwasher from draining. The video for the disposal didn't mention that, the directions did. SO, make sure you do both. But now I have a new pump anyway. ALSO, be prepared for A LOT MORE WATER coming out of the old pump when you disconnect the hoses. In my case there was probably 1/2 - 1 gallon of water from the front hose and at least 1 quart from the back hose. I had to use 4 bath towels to soak up all the water even though I use a syphon to extract all the water possible from the inside of the dishwasher. Additionally, when installing the pump, the clamp on the back hose was very difficult to position. There is limited space so make sure you have the right sized pilers or be prepared to pull the dishwasher out to get to it. 

Watched repair video and followed directions. I ended up pulling dishwasher and repairing from bottom. 

Ordered the "Drain pump assembly" Replaced the old motor. Dishwasher Drains! 

After verifying there was no clog on either the dishwasher side nor the outlet side of the pump I determined the pump itself needed to be replaced. I immediately found the part on AppliancePartsPros.com, ordered it (along with a set of door springs), received all of the parts and just two days later. Installation was quick and easy. The online repair video was helpful, too. 

Changed it without removing the dishwasher. Bit of a challenge but got it done. Part fit perfectly and without undue frustration (considering the lack of space). 

I am pretty handy but I rarely try to fix appliances...I usually leave that for the pros. However, after watching the video, I was amazed with how simple the fix was and I decided to buy the part and try it out...the fix took whole few minutes...the longest part was actually taking the water out of the dishwasher (1 cup at the time and then soaking the towel until it was dry). All it was needed was a screwdriver and a pliers - really simple fix! THANK YOU APPLIANCE PART PROS!!! 

Replaced with new pump. After viewing repair video on appliance parts pros website the repair was simple. The part was shipped the day I ordered it and in my hand by noon the next day. Exact part perfect fit. 

Ordered the part and it came in 3 days and works great again. So happy 

Ordered a new pump and installed it within 5 minutes. Instructions were at point of purchase. You site. ought it at our site for 58.65 tax and shipping included in that price. Place I bough the dishwasher from wanted 176.00 plus tax plus installatiopn probably 'til al said and done 250-300 dollar bill. I'd a been better off buying a new dishwasher with that being the case
