How to Troubleshoot & Replace Frigidaire AP3958752 / 154579101 Door Spring

All you need is a Philips head to remove the front plate, no other tools needed to replace the Door Cable and Spring. 

I watched the video on the website. It looked really easy, but I didn't want to completely take the dishwasher out and disconnect the tubes... so I just pulled it out a little and was able to attach the spring. Easy! 

Replaced both door springs. 

I removed the bottom plate, attached the new spring to the hinge cord, stretched the spring and attached it to the rear mounting bracket top hole, and reattached the bottom plate. 

Purchase a door counterweight spring and cable and replaced the broken set. 

Watched the very helpful videos accompanying the replacement parts. I purchased it on your site before I attempted to fix and while I was fixing. These gave me the knowledge and confidence to make the repairs, and saved me a bunch of money! Thank you for providing the videos, as well as making the part identification and ordering so simple. Your site is one of the best I've used. 

Was an easy fix. Took out two screws holding dishwasher to the counter, pulled out the dishwasher enough to access the spring and cable, attached the new spring and cable and then pulled the cable around the pulley, slid dishwasher back in and reattached to the counter. Did both sides because if one side breaks the other side will probably break soon, Took less than 15 minutes. 

I unplugged the power to the dishwasher, took off the base plate under the door, used a flashlight to see , there's enough space under the dishwasher to replace the springs, I put the new springs on, replaced the base plate, plugged the dishwasher back and finished. Didn't have to disconnect the water the drain or pull the dishwasher out. I used the nut driver (1/4") to remove the base plate. 

Replaced broken items. 

Very easily, took less than ten minutes.
