How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3968432 / WH01X10302 Drive Belt

7 year old GE Hydro Wave. Tub seal leaked and water ran down shaft tube assembly and into ball bearing and damaged it. Repair was easy with the right tools. The only problem I had was it still leaked even with new seal. I took it apart again and the new seal had popped out even though I had seated it fully. The old seal was very corroded and had distorted the plastic tub where the seal fit causing it to leak. I reinstalled the seal with silicone II and no leak and washer works great now. APP.com were great, parts came quickly and were all as advertised. 

Thanks to your video's really helped. I now know how to completely break my washer down. Actually these parts are the only parts I haven't change out, besides the motor. Your computer system is wrong on the belt. I still haven't received the correct belt I have talked to 3 different tech. They keep saying I am wrong. I am not a dummy. I do know the belt ya shipped is TO SHORT. It doesn't even go around the pulley much less reach the motor. I am lucky for right now my belt is still in good shape. But ya really need to check your picture on the belt number is correct. The order is wrong. Last number is the difference picture shows a 3 your system ships last number is a 1.

Replaced mode shiftier. an belt Repair went very easy. The only hard part was removing the large left handed nut, due to age and corrosion. Your video was excellent. Showed everything, step by step. Made it very easy. 

Get ready for a good laugh. We had to take off the front of the washer in order to take off the back and get to the belt. Dick cut his finger and there was blood everywhere! Nothing seemed to go easy. Then, he happened to look up "machine won't agitate" online and it said that, I should unplug the machine for ten seconds, plug it back in and within 30 seconds open and shut the lid six times. That would 'reprogram' the motor. It worked! We now have a working washing machine and are still laughing our heads off. (I have the spare parts on a shelf in case the belt ever breaks). 

Ordered a new belt and 4 tub damping straps. Old belt was stretched and pieces were missing. New belt was an inch shorter and I thought I got the wrong belt. Contacted Appliance Parts Pro and they assured me it was the correct belt and that I needed to stretch it on to the pulleys. Replaced the belt and installed the straps. Did three loads of laundry today and no more water has splashed out. Great people to work with and shipping was super fast and a reasonable cost. Will us them again fore my next repair. 

Replaced the broken belt using a tie-wrap and the tool that I purchased with the belt. Including a tie wrap with the tool would be great. 

Will not agitate and not finish cycle need to switch machine to pump out water and repair ! Job is more difficult than others suggested center shaft nut needed 1/2” impact gun with socket to remove nut with plenty of penatrating oil and patience’s not you average persons easy job ! 

Washer would not agitate or spin. Removed fuse and replaced motor and belt. 

I reviewed all of the excellent videos available for my machine, so I knew exactly what I was faced with. As a retired aircraft mechanic, the work was less than daunting. Also, as a retired aircraft mechanic, I know better than to just tear something apart and see what I find. The videos are very professional and not a single step was left out on how to perform the repairs, very concise. Although the leaking triple valve was the issue, I decided to replace the drive belt and dampening straps due to age. The straps made a big difference in stability as the washer went through all of its cycle. I saved the belt for later as it really seemed to be in great shape with plenty of tension left. Pretty good for a 25 year old belt. (way to go General Electric)! I strongly recommend Appliance Parts Pro for repair parts and information.
