How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP7188100 / WR55X10942C Board Asm Main Control

Searched this forum and found out that this might be a problem with the main board. Ordered and it looks like IT was IT !!! Mów my 9 years old fridge is working like brand new! Thank you for this website and great help forum. You saved me a lot of $$$ ! 

Replaced control panel 

Everything was dead except the lights inside when you open the doors. It would not cool, ice didn't work, water didn't work and the control panel inside the refrigerator door was dead. After doing some research I narrowed it down to the main control board based on comments from others on this website and other DIY websites. Replaced the main control board and it works like new now. 

I did a Google search on my GE Profile Refridgerator to make sure I could order a new motherboard. When the new motherboard came in the mail (2 days later) I read the simple instructions and unplugged the old one, and plugged in the new one. 

Replaced the main control board. Contemplated buying a new refrigerator as it is 10 years old. I called the help line and described the problem. They told me the part I needed and if it didn't fix the problem I could return it for a full refund. The part arrived in less than 2 days. The video on the web site guided me through the installation process. Removing the old one was a bit more challenging than the video portrayed, but with some patience and persistence it was able to remove it. Replaced the main control board and the compressor overload relay. 

Ordered control panel from Appliance Parts Pros and received within two days. It actually took me longer to find a torx bit to fit the screws in the dishwasher door than it actually took me to remove the screws and replace the control panel. Once done, the dishwasher works perfectly! Super easy repair and excellent transaction with Appliance Parts Pros! 

Watched video on possible problems and figured it was mother board. Ordered part and replaced with video help. Frig works great now! Thanks, saved me a bunch of money doing it myself 

Never fixed an appliance before. Researched some videos, purchased a mother board and start relay, start relay was clicking but the mother board brought it back to life, easy to replace ! Appliance parts pros fed ex'd new parts fast... Thanks 

First we went online to see if others had experience with the issues we encountered. Several sites indicated the problem was the main control panel (motherboard). We ordered the part (which arrived within 2 days) took the main panel out from the back of the refrigerator and put in the new part. It worked immediately!!
