How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP5805162 / WE01X20380 Control Knob

Plumber suggested getting a new knob; ordered one online, was delivered in TWO days!!!!!, extremely happy!!!!

The old timer was ruined by me using needle nose pliers to use it. I know, bad. But installing the new timer was a cinch! I was able to switch it out in under 5 mins. And was able to vacuum up all the dust bunnies while back there. 

The black plastic stem had been striped for 5 years. Used pliers to turn the stem. Stem finally broke off making the dryer useless. Ordered a new timer and OEM knob. Took about 15 mins to change. Should have done it years ago! I was surprised at the cost tho, but everyone is happy now!

Replacement part. Very easy to identify model number of dryer and match. Part replacement easy to identify with picture. Part arrived next day.

Took the old one off and put the new one on.
