How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP5986365 / WD35X21038 Lower Dishrack Roller Kit

Attaching the new wheels was quick and easy. 

No tools required. A quick fix. Reused wheels on front of rack due to being wider than the replacement wheels. FWIW, only the pins needed replacing. Wheels had little wear and all could have all been reused. Replacement wheels slightly thinner/lighter than the originals. 

Replaced wheels on the dishrack. 

Installed the rollers without problem. There was a video that was helpful on the web site. Did not need any tools just pressed on by hand. Maybe 5 minutes to do. We did learn, from the video, that we had been putting the lower dishrack in backwards all these years. 

After living with a duct tape fix for about a year, I ordered new wheels and axles. Wish I had done this much sooner. Not only did it fix the problem, but the new axles attached better than the old ones. I don't expect to have this problem again. Thanks! 

The wheels were a piece of cake with brand new locks on them. Used a 1/4" nut driver to install the middle spray arm. The end cap snapped into the rack .slide. 

Replaced the wheels with those in the lower dishwasher rack roller kit. 

Easy fix after I watched your video of "how to". 

Obtained the roller kit to replace all eight wheels. Easy to remove the old wheels and replace with the new wheels and the new design for the attachment is much more secure. From opening the package to completion took about five minutes. 

The new wheel kit has a re-designed axle attachment, that is a straight push on to the basket wire. I simply installed the axle in the wheel and pressed them on.
