How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP4334050 / WH08X10036 Door Boot Seal

I watched and followed the video that was well prepared. Also, Kenny at AppliancePartsPros.com was a good help in processing my order and getting to me in a timely manner when it was briefly delayed. Many thanks there! Placing the new seal initially on the washer was a challenge and required four hands. Other than that, I took my time disassembling and reassembling the washer and it went well. Our washer is 13 years old so some time was required to clean the parts as they were removed. I used a wrench as a spanner with nylon ties to expand the spring clamp for placement on the door panel and it worked perfectly. (There is a video on YouTube on how to do that.) Thanks for your interest in my repair! 

Removed and replaced. The part is not cheap but I wanted to get the original equipment item. Appliance parts pros had the part and shipped it as described. Also their price was among the lowest I found online. Phone service was excellent and the accompanying video was informative. If you do this job and you have the same washer I do, you might find that several of the fasteners that accept a Phillips screwdriver can also be worked using a socket or nut driver (I think it’s a 7 mm), which might make things easier. Takes a bit of fiddling to get one or two of the sheet metal holes lined up on reassembly but overall a straightforward job. Good service from this vendor.

Found what was wrong, took not too long because it was more visible. Ordered the part, wasn’t very hard. Replaced the part, also not big deal. There is video on YouTube for everything and once you done it couple dozen times, you don’t need them anymore. Please try to fix your stuff and reduce waste. 

My son and I followed the video exactly step by step. It was a little hard to work the rubber, but we got it. Do not try if you are not handy, I`m a carpenter and he`s an engineer. We used only the tools in the video. 

I did the repair myself. The video was very helpful. 

Replaced door boot seal, also found cracked dispenser tube. 

Followed the video APP provided and had it done in 90mins. 

Replaced both. 

Bought a new gasket and installed it.
