How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP4297334 / WE14M124 Drum Support Bearing

Replaced the drum support bearing and the bearing slides. 

I disassembled the dryer carefully. The belt was broken, but the upper section of the front panel was wrecked by the tumbler wearing through the friction tabs. 

I easily found repair advice on the internet, including a youtube video detailing step-by-step procedures. Fortunately I had the same "broken" part as the video. I ordered that day from AppliancePartsPros, and the product was delivered in 2 days. The repair was simple and everything is working well 

When it broke it allowed the drum to fall just enough to allow clothes to get caught in the rim, which in turn tore the felt trap duct. I watched the repair video so helpful , was a piece of cake to repair. Works great ! Thanks for the video !! 

We have a GE DCVH515EF0WW dryer that is ~7 years old. It's been making increasingly loud noise and squeak. Upon examination of the dryer the bearings were worn away and the drum had been riding on the drum support bearing piece. The support piece was damaged due to running without bearing inserts. I had to replace the support and bearings. Fortunately the part was made to be fairly easily replaced and was available on AppliancePartsPro.com. I ordered the support piece, WE14M124 and two bearings, WE1M1067 and WE1M504 even though 2 of each of the bearings are needed. I used the one remaining old one until I can order two more. After installation the dryer was very quiet like new. I recommend monitoring the slide's wear so only the slides and not the bearing part needs to be replaced. AND SHIPPING WAS VERY FAST! GREAT VALUE! 

I took off the front of the dryer then I dismantled the upper half of the bearing connected all wires and light bulb back to it and re installed it .its working like new and quite. Thanks 

We have 2 dryers. I watched the repair guy fix the first one and paid over $500. I ordered the parts and was able to repair the dryer in about an hr the very next day. It probably would have taken less time but my dryer is stacked on the washer. I didn't have to unstack them to do the repair!

Replaced the front carrier and slides also replaced the felt. 

This was a pretty easy fix. My son and I did it together. Hardest part was unstacking the dryer off the washer. If you have even just a little bit of mechanical sense then you should be able to get this done.
