How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP6891612 / WR30X30972 Icemaker

I went to the AppliancePartsPros.com website and read a few of the Q&A's. After reading four or five of the problems and answers I was reasonably certain my problem was indeed a burned out ice maker. My next step was to see how difficult it would be to fix the problem. Clicked on one of your accompanying videos showing how to replace the ice maker. The video was very helpful in showing me exactly what to do. So I ordered a replacement part, received the part next day with standard shipping and replaced the old maker with the new ice maker within 20 minutes. 

Replaced this part. Super easy. Part cost same as it would have to have technician come diagnose. 

After viewing several DIY videos on the web, I felt comfortable in replacing the unit myself. It was a 15 minute fix an I saved about $150.00 

Ordered ice maker kit and it arrived next day as promised. Old ice maker was removed and installed new kit. The repair went smooth and easy. 

Ordered replacement ice maker and after installation worked wonderfully. Installation took only matter of minutes based on instructions and video from Appliance Parts Pros. Great company. Will continue to purchase parts from you. 

Replaced the Icemaker with a new unit. It was a pretty simple repair. The kit included everything you needed. Due to the age of my fridge and the brand (GE Profile), the kit came with an adapter cord to convert the plug to match the connection on my fridge. The extra length, about 6 inches, made it difficult to route the cable out of the way of the ice bucket. New icemaker is working great! 

When I couldn't find a match for the part number on my ice maker I used the Appliance Parts Pros on line chat tool. I was pretty excited when someone actually answered after 7 p.m. She helped me identify the correct part. When it came in I just watched the instructional video and had it fixed in about tem minutes. Best part is I did all of it and didn't even ask my husband for help. 

Replaced the whole ice maker easy to install even without instructions. 

After trying all of the reset options, the ice machine, although it was powered up, continued to not make ice. Took a flyer in replacing the entire unit since it was almost the same price as hiring a repairman. ApplianceParts had a great return policy, which lowered the risk for me, and was why I picked here (everyone has this part). The installation instructions were pretty good, and removal and installation took all of 20 minutes. The new unit started up and started producing it's first batch of ice within minutes. 

Purchased GE Refrigerator in 1998, still works great. Ice maker just quit making ice. Purchased the ice maker kit. I removed the old ice maker. I installed 'new ice maker'. It was so easy. It works great. I had ice within an hour.
