How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP6891612 / WR30X30972 Icemaker

It took me about ten minutes to attach the ice maker. I just wish they would've sent me one with a light on it. Other than that, everything is working fine. 

With new parts I ordered. 

It was very easy to install the new one. I read the recommendations plus I saw in YouTube. Very satisfied. 

Replaced Ice Maker. 

Replaced Water inlet valve to stop leak into floor. it wasn't stopping water to Ice Maker.Replaced Solenoid to allow cubed ice output. Hadn't worked in months. We always got crushed ice no matter which button you pressed. Replaced whole Ice Maker to stop leakage into the ice bin. It was dribbling into the bin and freezing into big globs in the left rear corner of the bin and continuing until the auger was frozen up. When it was working, it wouldn't stop when the bin was full, All problems solved. 

I ordered this part and swapped it out in less than 5 minutes. It was very easy and saved me 100's of dollars. 

Replaced ice maker and temperature sensor. 

Watched your video, read some online forum stuff and determined it was the ice maker so I ordered the correct part for my make and model. When part arrived it was slightly damaged so I called customer service right away and reported it. I still thought the ice maker would work so I decided to try it after Chris of APP assured me that part was under full warranty and would be replaced at no charge if I wanted. I installed the unit and had ice in 3 hours. Everything was great. 

Ordered new boards and icemaker and installed them. 

Replaced with Electromechanical Icemaker kit. Simple replacement. Installation took less than an hour. Works great.
