How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP6891612 / WR30X30972 Icemaker

Replaced the ice maker. 

Replaced ice maker. I expected the on light to go on but it never did so I thought the repair had failed. We went away for a few hours and it made ice & our ice bin is full now. But the on light still isn't on . No problem! 

It went ok, it works just fine as of now. Thanks! 

Installing the Auger fixed it. It began making and distributing ice. Never had to put the Icemaker Kit in. Called to find out about returning. Best customer service ever... clear instructions on how to return it, polite and helpful agent. 

Following instructions online and in the new Electromechanical Icemaker kit. It was simple to install and worked perfectly. 

First, I have to say the the turnaround on the order was ridiculously fast. I placed the order via live chat one afternoon, and FedEx dropped it at my door about noon the next day! The icemaker was an exact replacement. Following the instructions, removal of the old one was simple, and installation of the new one was just as simple. The hardest part was bending the power cable to get the connectors to line up exactly right. I powered it up, and within a few hours I was getting ice again. The defrost timer: I'd already watched your tutorial video on it, and the swap was a snap. It took no more than 5 minutes. It probably took about as long to empty and refill the top shelf as it did to do the swap.

I Looked up GE Parts on the Internet and got help from Appliance Parts Pros. The Wife was surprised on the over night delivery of the replacement Ice maker. It took me less than 1/2 hr. to replace the old one.

Simple replacement. How to video on your website was helpful, but even more helpful was the customer service person, Gloria. What ever you are paying Gloria it is not enough. She went way above and beyond to help me in selecting the right ice maker for my situation. Problems arouse as the appliance model number for my old kenmore said I should have one type of ice maker and the number on the original ice maker was different. Gloria spent the time to watch the videos of both ice makers and help me to decide which model was appropriate for my Kenmore. Gloria was informative, patient with answering my questions and a pleasure to work with. In a time when good customer service is hard to find, Gloria and the rest of your company leaves the rest in the dust.
