How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP6891612 / WR30X30972 Icemaker

Put the part in and had fresh ice in 24 hours 

I've been putting up with a leaky ice maker for FAR too long. My freezer would form frozen water falls from the offer tray down to three bottom every other week or so. For less than the cost of a service visit from GE and LITERALLY FIVE MINUTES, my problem was fixed. 

Instructions were good and it took 15 minutes just like the instructions said. 

Replacing my icemaker with this part was fairly easy, even though the replacement part wasn't an exact match to the part I was replacing. Getting the electrical cable with adapter twisted around into place in order to plug it in in a way that didn't obstruct the ice drawer from being pushed in and pulled out was a bit tricky, but I managed it. 

I ordered a new one fro Appliance Parts and replaced it. The new one works great. It took me 10 minutes to replace it. Thanks so much. 

Replaced the leaking ice maker with new one ordered on appliancepartspros.com. Replacement ice maker fit perfectly and is working great!

Replaced the icemaker. It was simple 

Swapped in the replacement in about 5 minutes; totally trivial. The service video was great. Only nit there was that the fastener to the freezer wall was a phillips-head screw, not a hex bolt. And they were right that using the original conduit carrying the water into the ice maker was more sensible, since the replacement that came with the kit wasn't anywhere near long enough to reach from the water hose outlet to the maker.
