How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP6891612 / WR30X30972 Icemaker

I ordered new GE ice maker, my son installed it in minutes, and now I have ice. It works great! 

Before buying the part from you, my freezer wasn't working for a whole year. I called a near by appliance store and they were charging me $254 for the part only. This year I was determined to fix it myself. Looked up the internet and found the part on your website. When I received it, 2 hours later I now have ice and NO water spilling every where!!!!!! I am extremely happy!!!!!! 

Fixed it myself very easy replacement, just needed a screwdriver. 

Replaced broken parts

It was not all that difficult. The instructions come with both ways it could be mounted in the freezer. Got mine in and two days later the ice bucket is full of ice. I also changed the water tank on my frig with the part coming from the same place. The video showed me exactly how to change it, and it took and 15 minutes. You can fix anything if you take the time to look into how to fix the problem. 

Well it wasn't a 5 minute fix. french door bottom freezer took about 1 1/2 hour to get running. have to empty out freezer remove door and shelf divider to get access to ice maker. ice maker is in back and had to lay in freezer with headlight to remove unit. will keep old unit for spare, the spring had come dislocated thus arm wouldn't work as designed. 

New ice maker. Would have been a real quick fix. But it took hours to see if the problem was fixed. 

Great super easy took less then 5 min to replace the whole thing. 

Called AppliancePartsPros with the model number a few days later the part arrived. Two screws and a plug in it was fixed. Plugged in the fridge heard a buzz and a few hours later I had ice! After that I cleaned the coils with your $5.00 brush. It was great! Thanks. Vic in Colorado.
