Performing the diagnostic test of the Ice Maker indicated that replacement of the Ive Maker was necessary. Removing the old unit, and replacing it with the new one was a simple straightforward job. The most time consuming part was releasing the locking tab on the right side of the electric plug, because it is next to the wall and out of sight. One thing that could cause confusion is that the replacement unit has two different applications; one for a freezer compartment with plastic walls, and another with metal walls. Each entails a different procedure. Luckily, I had a magnet, which showed metal walls. This was a less involved task than for plastic walls. The job took a bit over 15 minutes.
