How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP6891612 / WR30X30972 Icemaker

My wife is petite. She was able to fit under the sliding track of our GE bottom freezer. She unplugged the old ice maker and loosened two hex head screws, that held the ice maker in place. The reverse process was used to install toe new ice maker. Total time required 10-15 minutes. Hint: Make sure the fill tube is in the correct position. 

Replaced with new complete Ice Maker 

I used the site to diagnose the issue best I could, ordered the part, it arrived in about a week. Took 10 mins to install and it worked perfect. This was a great and easy experience. Replaced the ice maker. Took about 15 minutes. Should have done this years ago. It was one of the easiest repairs I’ve ever had to make to anything, and now we’ve finally got an endless supply of ice. Cold drinks, hello!

Very simple installation, following the directions with the replacement unit from AppliancePartsPros. Had to understand the "refill channel piece" and electrical connection by adding the new piece provided.
