How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3728341 / WD18X10026 Dishwasher Sump Assembly

Found out all the rubber parts had disintegrated to mush. The parts arrived the next day and had it fixed that night. The new parts fit perfect, repaired all the leaks. Cleaned out all the old parts and WOOPPIE! Runs like a champ! Like a new champ! Wife happy too so well worth the effort. I will deffinitely order from you guys again. Stan 

Ordered new part and put it on. I was really impressed with how easy ordering the part was! 

Disconnected discharge hose,supply line and unplugged electric cord. Un screw from countertop put pad under dishwasher. pull dishwasher out laid on back side. removed Inlet Sump. End up taking other thing off and cleaning. Removed everything from inside dishwasher and cleaned. Cleaned DW blades. Put everything back together. Put NEW Inlet Sump in. Runs better than when it was new. 

The repair was made more complicated by assuming it was the pump connector. Therefore more was disassembled than needed. But as soon as I saw the hole in the dishwasher sump, I ordered the new sump and followed the very nice video on replacing it. The actual replacement was relatively easy. After reassembly, the dishwasher worked well. Thanks. 

I had the inside apart to get to all the filters and cleaned them out, however I found that the rubber dishwasher sump was disintegrating and pieces of it were getting stuck in the filter. I searched the internet and found your web site. I watched the repair video and thought I could do that. I am a 73 year old grandma and the only help I needed was getting the dishwasher on it's side and my son did that. The video was clear and easy to understand and the tools were things that I had. I'm happy to say it's working perfectly now. Thank you. 

Changed the dishwasher sump 

The boot on the bottom sprung a leak we replaced in 30min and all set. Saved myself a new dishwasher or repair dude cost. 

I was able to diagnose the problem by watching AppliancePart pros repair videos to see how to disassemble the underside components of my dishwasher. After taking off the sump I noticed there was a small hole that was causing my leak. The replacement part was able to be delivered in 2 days and reassembly was made easy with the associated videos. I believe the hardest part of this repair was remembering where all the screws attaching the dishwasher to the underside of the cabinet are and wiggling the dishwasher free. One key point that isn't explained in the videos, always tilt your dishwasher backwards (away from the door) otherwise any left over water in the sump or lines will flood back into the dishwasher and likely come out of the door when you stand it back up again. 

Replacing the sump was easy and included a thorough cleaning of the filter components that should be done periodically. AppliancePartsPros.com had the discontinued sump replacement. The part arrived 24 hours after ordering and the installation took about 2 hrs, including cleaning. I watched the provided video one time and there weren't any surprises. 

Replaced several parts of which all fit like original and it was a fairly straightforward repair. Only difference from repair video was a support bracket and 2 screws that I had to remove.
