How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2029997 / WB36X10003 Light Bulb

Followed directions in my appliance manuals. It was a cinch! 

Surface light: unscrewed the single screw holding the glass plate over the bulbs under the microwave, replaced bulb. Interior light: took off top grate (two screws holding in place), removed metal plate, changed bulb, replaced all. Note: These were the same bulbs for both locations. I only ordered ONE from AppliancePartPros.com, and got another one at a different store-- 40Watt Appliance Bulb did the trick (slightly different bulb shape, but same base). UNPLUGGED MICROWAVE BEFORE DOING ANY MAINTENANCE! 

Ordered a new one, it was delivered in about three days and I installed it. Perfect fit. ... 

Viewed repair video and then proceeded to replace both socket and light. Pretty easy. Called tech support because light only operated at one level. Determined level controlled by circuit board which has been discontinued. Did not want to pursue further. Some light better than none. 

Replaced bulb and glass. 

Watched related video for tips and what to watch out for ..... easy peasy !!! 

Changed it 

Replaced lamp socket, bulbs and glass....spent an hour cleaning the underside of the microwave. The parts breakdown drawing provided by your site made ordering replacements easy. 

Got a new socket, 2 new bulbs and fixed so easy. Thanks so much for having the parts and the videos!! 

I used the videos on your website to help me determine how to replace the lense and lamp. Though a simple job I had not done this before so found that very helpful. For example I would not have thought to unplug the appliance first. I also wouldn't have realized how easy it is to bend back the tabs on the metal holder to replace the lense.
