Our water dispenser stopped working. I had previously fixed this about two years ago by replacing the MWF Manifold, WR17X22074; the Cold Water Reservoir, WR17X11324; and the Union Connector, WR02X11330. Those repairs went well with the videos Appliance Parts Pros provides. Unfortunately, after replacing the manifold this time, the issue remains. After talking with an APP specialist on the phone, I decided to order the Ice Dispenser Solenoid, WR62X10055. The item has shipped, has left Indianapolis for Tennessee and is currently in Wyoming, yes Wyoming about 2,000 miles out of the way. Hoping the return from Wyoming is as quick. In any event what I learned from the telephone discussion is the water line and the Ice Maker Refill split (I see and recognize the two lines on the back of the refrigerator now). That is why we still have Ice Production, but do not have water dispensing. We checked the tube after the Union Connector. To check this: Refrigerator plugged in and on; Water Line On; Disconnect the Union Connector (press in with an open end wrench to release the tube). Put a container to catch water from the tube (on the front of the refrigerator by the freezer side). Hit the dispenser and see if water comes out. If it does, then the everything works to that point. If the Solenoid replacement does not work, the the issue is in the freezer door and not repairable. To fix the tubing in the freezer door is not possible, you would need a new door. A new door is over $900, is a special order, is on back order in August 2021, and really not worth it for an 18 year old refrigerator. I am optimistic the Solenoid replacement will resolve the issue. Also, if a part has been replaced within the last two years, that is probably not the problem. Hope my incorrect diagnostic experience helps someone avoid a similar situation.
