How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2031031 / WB44X200 Oven Bake Element

Ordered a new bake element. and it arrived several days earlier than expected! We replaced this same element with you about 11 years ago. (again, super fast service, I would highly recommend your company for having much-needed replacement parts, and the speedy delivery! 

Removed element from oven, ordered new one and replaced it. The service and quickness provided was superb and reminiscent of times past in this country. Like a breath of fresh air and encouraging. 

I purchased a baking heat element and replaced it. The oven works like it's brand new and not 40 years old now. 

Replaced the bake element. 

I found the part number on the failed part on my oven and ordered a new one. The new one arrived with amazingly fast shipping. The new one's footprint (where it screws into the back of the oven) was a bit smaller than the original, but it all mostly fit and connected properly. As long as the smaller cover of the hole in the back of the oven isn't an issue and my house doesn't burn down, I'll be fine with it. . 

Purchased this new bake element and had an appliance repair man come and replace it. 

Using model number, located replacement element from AppliancePartsPros.com. Received the element very quickly and replaced the burned out element. 

I used your 'how-to' video to change out the damaged bake element and replace it. The warning tips in the video were very helpful. I killed the power, then removed the screws that held the unit to the wall of the oven, pulled out the wires and made sure they were out far enough so as not to retract into the wall, as instructed. I then unhooked the connection from the wires, slipped on the connections and secured the connection. The connection was a little 'bendy' so I used pliers to hold it in place and a wrench to tighten screw. I used a six-sided wrench to tighten the screws to the wall. The original screws require a wrench. I was thrilled to see the unit heating up right away. What a thrill to see an oven that once again, heated up in only a few minutes as opposed to 25 minutes! The repair job took 20-25 minutes. I am so happy you carry replacement parts for older appliances. Thankyou Marji S 

Replaced the bake element. This is an older GE oven but the design is common with a flaw. The small wires that feed the heating element get bent slightly every time the heating element is lifted and lowered for cleaning, this will cause the feed wires to eventually break at the connector. To repair a broken feed wire the entire oven would need to be removed and disassembled so great care is needed to reduce the lifting and lowereing of the heating elements when cleaning. 

I checked the broil element and saw that it was working perfectly. Then when testing baking element, I found that it was heating a little but not hot. I watched the video about how to replace baking element from your company. I thought I would try to replace the element myself before paying to have an electrician come to check oven. I followed your steps and replaced the baking element. It was pretty easy. When I turned the oven on, the element worked correctly! I was really proud of myself for trying to fix my oven successfully. I also saved myself a lot of money by not having to pay a service charge to have someone come and the. Also the price of the element. I recommend anyone can replace the elements themselves remember to turn off breaker first and take care not to loose wires in back of stove.
