How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP5803461 / WH23X10030 Drain Pump

Ordered exact replacement part, watched You Tube Video, and replaced the dysfunctional pump. It would behoove everyone doing this or other repairs in tight quarters and between stamped metal components, to be aware that trimmed edges are extremely sharp and can cause serious injury. Fortunately my cuts were not severe but they were painful. Other than that the procedure was simple and easy to accomplish. 

I replaced the motor with this one. Not a perfect match but duty cycle was the same and power usage was 10 watts lower. So far it is performing well. I do not anticipate any issues. 

Checked all the drains hoses, for a clog and there was not any clog----call APP tech rep and we agreed it was most likely the drain pump---after watching the DIY video for installation instructions I ordered a Pump. It was delivered in one day----took about 15 minutes to install ----All fixed. PHIL

I’m a 72 yr old female on a limited income and the pump goes out on the washer. We had used appliance parts pros before so I looked up the model number and went to the web site to order it. I ordered it late on Wednesday afternoon and received it early Friday afternoon. I proceeded with the repair later that day. I had watched the video so I had my tools ready. It was an easy repair and I couldn’t believe what a repairman wanted to fix it. I will say GE uses strong clips lol but with pliers, they came off easily. After installation, I ran a short cycle making sure there were no leaks. Replaced front of the washer and done within 30 minutes. I did a little dance, patted myself on back and kept my money in bank. 

Replaced pump. Very easy to do thanks to video. After 2 wash loads the machine worked fine. Drained completely as it should. 

Ordered drain pump. 

After watching many You Tube videos to help diagnose, I replaced the water pump part myself in less than 20 min and for less than $50. Was so incredibly easy to do. The most difficult part was removing the front panel off the washer. So much better than spending $1000 on a new appliance. Part arrived super fast. 

Took the cover off of the control panel to access the service manual. Followed the instructions to remove the front panel thereby giving access to the interior of the machine. Determined that the pump was not working, so we turned the machine up to allow the residual water to flow away from the pump, and removed the pump. I ordered a new pump from Appliance Parts Pros, according to the part number in the service manual. Part arrived within 3 days. Installed new pump and replaced all panels. Everything worked fine.
