How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP6292085 / WH16X26909 Left Rod & Spring Assembly

Bought a used washing machine. When it went into spin cycle, the machine would bang and jump around the room like R2D2 having a seizure. After researching online, I came across this site which had a video and explanation of my problem. I ordered the suspension rods and they arrived in 3 days. I have never used this site but I'm very pleased with the experience and will definitely use it again. 

I first watched your repair video to insure I fully understood the process. I proceeded to order the proper parts from your website. After receiving the parts, it took 5 minutes to disassemble, 20 minutes to replace parts and 5 minutes to reassemble. I ran a full load of towels and jeans to test with a worst case scenario and it worked flawless. Thanks Folks 

I replaced all four upper ball joints and all four rod and spring assemblies. The washer loads now remain balanced during the spin cycle even with bulky items such as a kings sized blanket and a sheet and pillow set. I did the repair myself in less than 45 minutes total. This saved me from having to purchase a new washer. 

By replacing the 4 spring/rods that support the wash basket. 

I ordered all 4 suspension rods 

Replaced all 4 suspension rods in the washer. Found a great YouTube video. It was a 2 person job because of our limited access to the washer, and the ball joints of the washer (thar hold the suspension rods) are greased and difficult to manage. 

Replaced the right and left rear suspension rod/springs. 

Received replacement rod & springs within 2 days! Works much better, no more banging around!
