How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP7215773 / WD21X24901C Dishwasher Main Control Board

Check to make sure we had power at the junction box to the dishwasher. My 16-year-old did it in about 30 minutes. It did seem like it took some time before it turned back on. Held down the start button as indicated online not sure if that helped? But it now works fine. 

Replaced the door sensor first and did the power cycling. That worked for a few weeks, but then the issue returned. Popped this board in and now it's running great. 

Replaced the electronic control board. Went without a hitch. 

Replaced main control board.

Found everything I needed on AppliancesPartsPros.com, in an existing thread. The tech thoroughly explained what to look for, and included links to clear, comprehensive videos. I ordered the genuine GE control board from the company with regular shipping, and the part came the next day! Followed the video and in 30 minutes I was back in business!! 

Diagnosed problem by dropping the panel that contains the control board and observed the LED light on control. It was flashing 4 times per second which is the indicator for a bad control board. I had power to the board, but no power or any lights at the interface buttons. The new control board took care of the problem. 

Replaced the electronic control board. There is a five-minute YouTube video explaining exactly how to do it. 

Replaced main control board and the door lock mechanism.
