Paul O Lockport , NY March 24, 2023 Appliance: Model DLEX 5170W LG dryer would run 5 seconds and stop it would sit a couple minutes and restart then stop this sequence would repeat itself I read online about people having the same trouble and they all said it was the motor with built-in overload protection. They all said they replaced the motor. So I bought an OEM motor through AppliancePartsPros.com and replaced it. It now (so far) works like a new machine. I also replaced the belt as long as I had it apart. If anyone tries to do this I suggest finding a video on how to take your machine apart. I found some videos that made it a lot easier with a few tricks on how to do it. Read More... Apparently the relay in the motor goes bad and will latch and unlatch which causes the behavior I saw. Read More... After researching the issue I found that it was the relay on the motor that was starting to fail. I ordered a new motor from AppliancePartsPros.com and watched their installation video.
