How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP5914786 / DA81-06013A Refrigerator Evaporator Fan Motor

I read the reviews and chat with appliance parts staff, decided to skip the testing procedure since it would cost another $126 for the board and waiting time to order the parts to be replace. I replaced the assy module, Sensor temp, defrost sensor and the fan, cost about $250 and I was a success in one hit. Take about 1 hr, easy piece of cake, thanks to appliancepartspros for the advice and speedy delivery. I was able to get my fridge back online, make wifey happy. I put the digital thermometer in the fridge, it shows 32-35 deg to make sure the fridge is at temp on the display 

Replaced the fan that circulates the air. 

Pulled evaporator cover to find full of ice fan encased in ice. Checked the control board, smelled burnt. Didn't want to chance to go in again on a $2,000 dollar refrigerator so I ordered fan and control board. Never worked on a refrigerator before but good with electronics. So the online diagrams lead me to the failed parts fast. Received the parts the next day at 2:00 pm. I had the refrigerator running like new at 3:15. Best part service I have ever seen. Quality parts fast- easy five stars.Thanks for helping me keep my wife happy. 

After some research the most likely cause was identified as the fridge evaporator fan. The fan had been making some noise but seemed to be running though temperature kept rising. I ordered an exact replacement fan shipped overnight air. The how to video on fan replacement provided by this supplier is an excellent guide to the diy guys like me. Following the video directions I had the fridge disassembled to the evaporator/fan in about 45 minutes; I am very careful following instructions. The instructions in the video are clear and made the job fairly straightforward and saved me many hundreds of dollars in a service call. It helps to have a second person to hold the back panel for a few minutes while you remove the electrical plugs. Total time from removing the first screw to inserting the last one was about 90 minutes. If I ever have to do this again I'd say time would be 30-45 minutes. 

Disassembled the fan housing/rear cover. Replaced fan, defrost thermostat and temp sensor. Used hair dryer to defrost big block of ice. Put it back together abs good to go. 

Replaced evaporator fan. 

Using your site as a guide, we opened the back panel, to discover that there was a ton of ice in there. We surmised (based on your videos and info) that it was the fan so we ordered one. It came a day ahead of schedule and we again used your site to guide us through the replacement. We closed it up and within a day, we were back in business! We just saved so much money. Thank you so much! 

Repairman said it sounded like a fan problem and recommended a fan kit. But he said parts were on backorder for 2 months because of coming from China. I found the 3 parts I needed, fan, sensor and thermostat at your online store and decided to tackle this project myself. I paid an extra couple dollars for 2 day shipping and 1 part came in the very next day and the other 2 came 1 day later. Very good videos and explanation of this repair on your site and it took me a total of 10 minutes to repair. One part I had to splice the old harness on it but still was very easy fix and probably saved myself $200 or more in repair bill from serviceman plus weeks or months of waiting! 

I ordered my new part using the text chatting, in less than 2 weeks I got it (in Honduras). I changed and now it is working. Great the same part as the old one. I am satisfied. 

Replaced it
