How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4579344 / DC96-01585D Washer Drain Pump Assembly

Ordered a Drain Pump, it arrived promptly and was packaged very well. Even better, was the exact part I needed. Following a video on YouTube, put the new pump in and had everything back together in about an hour. Washer works like a charm with new pump. Very happy with Appliance Parts Pros. 

During my troubleshooting process, I started opening up the washer to locate the pump to see how hard it would be to accomplish this task. I was suspicious of this maybe being a control board problem because it didn't happen every time. I called Appliance Parts Pros for assistance in the troubleshooting process, expressed my concern about the control board and they were a great help in suggesting I start with the pump as this was the most likely culprit. When I had it open I noticed one of the shock absorbers was very rusty so I ordered one of those too and again, Appliance Parts Pros helped me with the selection and had it been left up to me, I would have ordered the wrong one. Can't say enough good things about their technical support! Thanks again! 

Following the video that is provided for the required parts that I purchased, disassembly and replacement could not have been easier. I watched it once before attempting the repair, then played it step by step while doing the repair. By doing this myself, I save over $200.00 vs hiring out the repair. Thank you. 

Ordered a part and watched a tutorial from appliance parts pros. 

Googled the problem and found the video from appliance parts pros! Excellent video with detailed instructions and even told me what part to order. The exact part was here in two days, my husband watched the video and replaced the drain pump on our Samsung VRT within an hour. Hopefully, we can get another 10 years out of it! Thanks!

Found the parts - and repair video - on the Appliance Parts Pros website. Ordered parts - thanks for having PayPal - and received the ordered parts within 3 days! Reviewed the repair video. I placed the washer on its side, to gain access to the drain pump, from the bottom end of the washer. Using a flashlight, was easy to see which clamps/hoses to remove from the drain pump. Removed the 2 bolts that fastened the drain pump & bracket to the washer. Disconnected the 2-wire power plug. Reassembly was in reverse order - the replacement drain pump ordered was the complete assembly - and very easy to install.
