How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4564724 / DC96-01700A Drain Pump Assembly

By replacing the drain pump. 

1) Watched the video 2) Ordered the part 3) Received the part within two days! 4) Followed the instructions in the video... took less than a hour 5) Made the family happy (the most important result) 

I was able to call the local technician and he gave us a probable diagnosis ($95.00) plus and estimate ($390.00) to fix the problem. I opted to pay the diagnostic and fix it myself. Ordered the OEM part from your company for $154.00 including taxes and shipping fees. Greatest fear of mine not providing the exact part number or model but mapping pictures of mine with the product. I was able to order the correct or exact part. Installed it and now I have a brand new washer ready for another 10 years of work. 

Installed new drain pump assembly. I had the new part installed in an hour, but it took me another hour to get the boot spring clamp on. Harder than it looks!

Replaced the pump 

Replace whole drain pump assembly. Do not just replace the pump motor, for a few dollars more everything is there, 

Purchased and installed a drain pump assembly. Googled problem, decided the drain pump was what was causing it. Watched video on AppliancePartsPros, with whom we have dealt with in the past. Decided it was a doable repair, ordered the part on Sunday, received it Wednesday morning. The machine was up and running the same day. It is listed as a half-hour job. Took me longer because the video is of another model and not exact directions for mine. Any other time delay was because of me, not the part. Would highly recommend their parts and service. 

No error codes showed up. After watching a few videos and taking things apart to try to diagnose, it seemed likely that the problem was the pump. I ordered the OEM from APP and it arrived within 2 days. The APP video was much better than anything else I found on line, particularly with lighting within the machine. After experience taking things apart and putting back together, the final repair took less than 1 hour. Works great again. 

Removed top of washer-remove soap dispenser - removed and disconnected display panel - I removed retaining spring clamp for front gasket - removed door latch assembly - removed front washer panel - disconnected 3 clamps for drain assembly - detached electrical to drain - removed two bolts for drain assembly- pulled out drain - then reassembled
