How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4144712 / DA63-02183A Refrigerator Sensor Cover

It almost seemed like the ice was sticking to the ice tray, so, when expelling the cubes, instead of dropping into the bin whole, some would just shatter, while others were never released and remained in the tray during water refill. As a result, solid ice was forming in the bottom of the ice bin, and just a small amount of broken ice was being produced. The Ice Cube Tray was replaced and it is now working normally. 

Watched video on line. Ordered parts,( which were delivered very quickly), that were easily replaced. Ice maker fixed. 

Replaced the sensor bracket and cover for the lower ice maker. 

Replaced temperature sensor cover. 

Replaced the Sensor Cover that held the temperature sensor in place. Used this YouTube video that was extremely helpful to figure out what was wrong and how to fix it: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=u_NnNsn6y1E 

I replaced the broken cover for the sensor. 

Fortunately these guys have a great backlog of parts and I’ve been able to fix it myself by replacing the bracket and 30 minutes of labor. This is the second time in 15 years I’ve had to do this. Sadly the plastic is thin and subject to brittleness I think when it gets cold. But the fix is easy enough to do. It’s a Samsung bottom freezer refrigerator. Can’t remember the model number. 

I ordered a new tray sensor bracket and cover and was able to fix the entire problem in under $10 min for less than $60!! What a deal! 

Replaced with new part- quick delivery, all up and running now! Thanks APP!
