How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4144712 / DA63-02183A Refrigerator Sensor Cover

Found video by appliancepartspros.com ordered part, checked out to see who had best price on part which appliancepartspros.com did, was very easy to repair by video and took care of my problem thought I needed to replace ice maker with your help got it repaired 

My 3 yr old ice maker had two pieces fall out (clear plastic clip & white foam piece) and the white wire with with a sensor attached to it is hanging down about 6 inches. I ordered and replaced the plastic clip so the sensor & foam piece is firmly attached to the ice cube tray. This clip has broken a few times (probably from the sliding drawer in the freezer yanking on the sensor wire.) I did a search and found the following step by step tutorial on how to fix it). I ordered 3 clips so I have a few extras next time it breaks. This tutorial helped me diagnose & fix the problem. Took the ice maker out inserted the loose sensor into the sensor bracket then put the senor bracket cover on and place the assembly into the ice maker. You can find youtube videos as to the process. I found it much easier to remove the ice maker to get the parts into their correct places. Now ice is in production as it should be all loose. 

Replaced missing parts that positioned sensor underneath ice cube tray. These two parts had fallen into ice maker a while back and I discarded them thinking it was packing material. 

I replaced the sensor bracket and cover plus the ice cube tray 

I slid the hard plastic "cover" over the foam "sensor bracket", placed the sensor in the obvious molded spot in sensor bracket, pressed the cover/bracket assembly onto the ice cube tray so it would make good contact and snapped it into place, and finally ran the sensor wire through it's guides. Works great! The most time consuming part of the job was removing the freezer contents and then the drawers so I could lean into the compartment and see where everything went. But that was a good excuse to clean everything, and the freezer now looks "good as new". 

After defrosting freezer and removing old sensor mount and guard replaced with new parts. 

Removed the icemaker and replaced the ice cube tray, repositioned the sensor in the sensor bracket, and replaced the cover. The ice cube tray and cover plastic had broken in a few places. This icemaker has been trouble since the start - always breaking and freezing ice cubes together, or breaking the ice into small pieces. After this repair, all is working like new again! 

I watched the tutorial and it looked easy so I tried it myself.. I ordered the Ice tray first, and then the sensor cover, and shut-off lever. I couldn't believe how inexpensive they were and I was shocked at how quickly they arrived. Putting it together was easier than it looked and my family really thought... I will definitely recommend you to my friends and family.
