How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4204358 / DC62-00156A Washer Tub Seal

Thanks to the great videos, I had the information needed to take on this project. The repair was major but beat the option of buying a new washer. 

Replaced spider arm and shocks. Samsung front load was just 5 years old. While waiting for parts I did a thorough cleaning of drum and tub. It's was filthy. Had a large amount of caked up sediment under spider arm and on back of drum. Spider arm was badly coroded but not broke. After cleaning and new parts washer works fine now. 

We repaired it ourselves by watching videos on youtube and on appliancepartspros.com. Appliancpartspros.com didn't have a bearing replacement one but their video on replacing tub seal was very good. 

Took the whole thing apart knocked out the old bearings and seal then put the new ones in. 

Ordered a new spider arm, bolts, and tub seals from AppliancePartsPros.com. 

Thanks to Appliance Parts Pros, we were able to order the parts and follow the step-by-step video perfectly. It's a bit daunting because there are so may steps involved but none are particularly difficult and it was a great sense of accomplishment when we had it back together and "took it for a spin"! Saving $1000 was a plus too. 

Took the whole thing apart. i replaced the spider arm and rear seal and drum seal 

Replaced the spider assy, rear tub seal, tub seal, & door boot seal. Noticed a lot of metal in tub drain tub & pump assy cleanout area, so removed all hoses from the pump & cleaned them up, it all was pretty gross smelly soap residue with embedded metal parts! The videos were excellent, Thanks for providing them. 

Utilized Appliance Parts Pros YouTube video to learn proper disassembling, replacement of a broken part, and reassembly. Excellent source of information. I paused the video, executed the step then restarted, and moved to the next step. Instructors did an excellent job of walking me through the process. The model used in the YouTube video was very similar but slightly different from the model I was repairing. Recommend taking photos while disassembling so while reassembling discrepancies can be more easily worked through 

I followed the great video on the parts page and replaced the spider. I took extra time to remove and clean all the hoses because of soap scum and chunks of corroded aluminium from the broken spider.
