Before the dryer stopped heating, the auto dry setting wasn't working properly. It would dry the clothes and then keep repeating the cycle and never turn off automatically. I knew this was a hazard, so I stopped using the auto dry setting. I couldn't find any fixes for this particular problem but after it stopped heating, I was able to find information for that problem. I removed the heating element and tested it with a multimeter. It registered fine so I determined that the problem must be with one (or more) of four items: thermistor, thermistat, or two thermal fuses. Each of these parts are relatively inexpensive and I decided to replace all four since I had to take the dryer completely apart anyway. The AppliancePartsPros' videos were extremely helpful. It took about 45 minutes to replace all four parts and now the dryer works perfectly, even the auto dry setting. The hardest part was taking everything apart and keeping track of all the screws. As suggested in the video, I took pictures with my phone along the way so that I could remember what went where. After replacing the parts I cleaned out the dryer before I put it all back together. It was full of lint. I'm not sure if this contributed to the issue, but I'm sure it didn't help any. Thanks AppliancePartsPros, you saved me a bundle!
