How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4201898 / DC47-00018A Dryer High Limit Thermostat

Watched the video you folks provided several times. Was able to remove the heating element housing from the dryer without having to unstack it. Used my meter to determine which component was bad. it turned out to be the thermal fuse. $10 part. Drilled out the rivets like on the video and riveted the new one back in place. Tested out before final reassembly and it worked. Total time spent, 1 hour. Thanks folks for the detailed video. It was very helpful! 

Watch your videos as to probably cause an surely enough found the problem so I ordered replacement parts and done it's working again 

I figured it was either the Heating Element or the Fuses. Watched your Instructional video on how to disassemble the Dryer and access the problem area. I then used my meter to test all the relays and the culprit was the the Thermal Fuse Assembly/Thermostat. Ordered the replacement parts, watched the step-by-step video and made the necessary repairs. Dryer spins but no heat. We first replaced the heating element, but that did not fix the problem. We then replaced the thermal fuse and the thermostat and one of those (not sure which one) fixed the problem. Note that the thermostat had to be riveted onto the bracket, so we had to buy a rivet tool. We have heat now!!! 

Did a little trouble shooting. Made the decision the thermostat was out. Order my part by make and model. Had shipped overnight. Dryer working perfectly now. 

I replaced the thermostat, thermistor and thermal fuse, and the machine runs normally now. I did not test the three replaced parts to see which one in fact failed. 

Took about 10 minutes. Put dryer back together and worked as good as new!

Viewed Youtube videos on how to test and what to test. Found part that had gone bad and ordered replacement parts plus a couple parts that were worn to replace while I had the dryer apart. 

My Samsung front load stacked dryer wasn't hot. Drum was moving. Tried cleaning the vent to improve airflow, still no heat. Didn't want to unstack since I didn't have help to lift it to restack. Moved it out a little to take the top off, then followed the disassemble video. Tip: use small paper cups to hold screws and label the cup with where they go. Makes it faster to put back together. I replaced the thermal fuss and the thermistor by the motor on the back of the exhaust duct and vaccummed some lint from the fan. The thermostat by the heating element and thermal fuse with the bracket by the heating element were fine. My elderly neighbor tested with an ohms meter for me since I didn't have one or know how to use one. Put everything back together by myself and the dryer is working perfectly. The whole project, including a thorough lint removal took about 2 hours. Then I treated my wonderful neighbors to lunch. PS make sure you put the drum belt on with the correct groove side out. Otherwise the drum won't turn when turned on but will when you hand turn the drum.
