How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4334981 / DA63-02284B Refrigerator Ice Cube Tray

After troubleshooting, ice was falling into bin broken, shattered, shaved, anything but whole. After research, one common issue is that the ice trays eventually lose their slickness and become brittle. After replacing the ice tray for $5, ice is now coming out completely whole again. 

Ordered and replaced the tray quick and easy. 

Ordered the part. Watched your Youtube video and had it done in less than 5 minutes 

Using diagrams and parts list from AppliancePartsPros.com, I was able to disassemble the ice maker and determine that the cause was a faulty ice tray. The replacement part arrives quickly in a couple of days and I was able to make the repair successfully. 

My icemaker was functioning but the ice tray was not emptying. Water dispensed on top of the frozen cubes and spilling over into the bucket and freezing into a solid block of ice. I watched a you tube video and learned how to remove the motor, tray and disconnect the sensor. The video explained how the tray needs tension to empty the ice cubes into the bucket. If there is a crack in the tray at its vulnerable area the tension is gone. The water dispenses and the tray rotates but the cubes do not empty into the bucket. I ordered the correct tray (be careful there are two sizes) and it was delivered in 2 days. I watched the video again to learn how to connect the sensor to the tray and how to correctly mount the ice maker into the freezer and reset the icemaker. Works better than when I inherited the Samsung refrigerator. Tah dah! Girl power! :) 

Received the replacement parts was an absolute simple instalation couldn't have asked for better 

Just removed and replaced. 

Wasn't sure what parts were involved. Found a video where the ice tray was replaced that helped. AppliancePartsPros was mentioned as the source for the new tray. Went to their website, located the appropriate diagram, identified the part and ordered. The part came within 24 hours which was quite a shock. Installed the part and we're back in business. 

Replaced the ice tray -- very simple repair. 

I held the reset button to watch the ice tray to get an idea of what was going on and when the ice tray dumped 2 ice cubes would not fal out of the tray causing water to over fill the tray when water poured into it. Did a little research and found it could be a cracked ice cube tray which it was, the crack was very small also. I watched a YouTube video on how to get the ice tray maker apart. It is very easy but definitely reccamend watching it. The only tool truly needed is a Phillips screwdriver. My ice making is now working perfectly fine and it only cost 12 dollars with shipping .
