Ray J Kosciusko , MS December 24, 2022 The compactor actuator was broken. This new Actuator Switch Kit should take care of the problem for good. The original was pretty flimsy. Installation was not difficult but you do need to pay close attention to drilling the mounting holes correctly. On reviewer said his compactor did not completely cycle with this switch. Mine does. Once the cycle starts it ran down to compact and then up so the drawer can be opened. Just like before. Read More... I found a little metal tab lying on the floor next to the drawer and didn't know where it came from. I decided to look up the symptoms on my favorite repair parts site (AppliancePartsPros.com) and easily found the problem. It was a broken actuator switch. I was able to look up the parts, watch a repair video, and order the parts. They were shipped and received in a reasonable amount of time.
