How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6006371 / WP22003593 Washer Door Latch Assembly

Replaced the door lock mechanism 

I ordered the door latch assembly and that was so easy to replace and worked perfectly. I also ordered the motor drive kit that came with the control board. Installed the new control board kit and the motor and tested the spin cycle, but the tub wouldn't turn. After 40 minutes of going through all the test cycles (which we found the paper in the top where the main control board is) Finally figured out that you have to have the door attached and closed so the door lock can lock and then it would spin after it locked the door. I viewed the video on your site and followed the easy to follow instructions to replace the door latch assembly. 

We were actually out looking for a new washer and went to a couple of appliance stores and my god the prices..... and we got home I googled Something along the lines of Maytag error codes, and your site was among other sites that popped up. Once in your site I reentered the code and there it was, a pic of the replacement part and a video on how to take what needed to be taken apart, Installed the new part, put it back together and whala fully functional washer.... you saved me from spending some serious bucks. Thank You 

The site guided me to the necessary parts needed for my repair. The how to video was helpful in assisting with giving the path for repair. All in all the door latch and locking mechanism was replace in about 20 minutes.

Installed a new latch assembly. The video was very helpful, and the reason I bought from AppliancePartsPros. The hiccup I had was not tucking the wiring in properly the first time, resulting in the top panel not lying flush when closed. The OEM latch "Made in Germany" lasted 13 years. APP's replacement appears similar in initial quality, time will tell how durable it is. Thanks again for the video. Without it, I wouldn't have had the courage to attempt the repair myself.
