How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5983729 / 661570V Whirlpool Drive Belt

Ordered new pulley and belt and installed them. Working great now. 

After our parts arrived, we watched your repair videos for the belt and pulley assembly installs. Our model dryer wasn't quite like the one in the video, but they did help us complete the repair. Now our dryer works like new again. 

I was confident the ordered parts would fit because I ordered here in the past. The replacement was a breeze. Thank you for the parts. Always a pleasure doing business. 

Replaced idler pulley. Was easy to get to from the back of the dryer. Did not fully remove back cover of dryer due to electrical hookup connections, however, was able to loosen up electrical cord so I could swing cover to the right side to allow access to the belt, pulley, and motor. 

Ordered parts which came the next day (without paying for next day service). Watched the video, then replaced parts. Done within an hour. Really quite easy. Thank you for your help. 

It was a little harder than we expected. Our son helped us put it on, and the video worked well to tell him what to do. It's not as easy as the video says, but the dryer is working very well now. 

Replaced belt and pully/tensioner/bracket. Cleaned hair from drum wheels (needle nose pliers). Keep those air passages clean and every few years remove the drum for a thorough cleaning. 

I thought it was the idler pulley, I used the videos to pull the dryer apart found that the blower wheel had been chewed up by a squirrel. As long as i was pulling the dryer apart decided to replace all rollers, new belt. Once i had the unit completely disassembled found and vacuumed everything found a dead squirrel in the vent. Reassembly went fairly quickly and dryer is working better than new. Just be aware blower is a left hand thread but the new one has markings to tell which way to tighten it on. 

Replaced bad parts with new Main part bad was idler pully 

I watched the how to videos here at Appliance Parts Pro and was able to do the repairs myself. Just have a little patience and watch the video's a couple of times before you start and you can do it too. Thanks A.P.P. and good luck everyone.
